SFFILTECH supplies structured PP monofilament media for reviewed gas-liquid separation requirements. For replacement projects, compare the media structure and finished assembly with the existing installation rather than assuming compatibility from a similar-looking mesh.

Series sample: the model, layer count and finished assembly are confirmed separately.
Replacement fit and assembly details
Send overall dimensions, existing media photographs or drawings, layer arrangement, support frame details, gas-flow direction and drainage direction. Reference sheet thickness does not define the thickness of a complete multilayer pad. Fit and operating performance must be assessed separately.
How the structured media works
Liquid droplets may contact the filaments through impaction and interception. Captured droplets can combine into larger drops, which must then drain through an appropriate separator arrangement. Material selection, media structure, gas velocity, liquid loading and drainage all affect the result. The media alone is not a complete mist-collection system.
Five reference styles
These values are supplier-derived technical references, not independently certified performance results. Single-layer height/thickness carries the stated ±10% reference tolerance. Confirm the supplied configuration before ordering.
| Reference | Bulk density (kg/m³) | Single-layer thickness (mm) | Filament diameter (mm) | Porosity | Technical PDF |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FE-DM-1012 | 30.5 | 5 | 0.12 | 95% | Table and drawing |
| FE-DM-1022 | 51.3 | 10* | 0.22 | 95% | Table and drawing |
| FE-DM-1522 | 31.4 | 12 | 0.22 | 96% | Table and drawing |
| FE-DM-2545 | 52.4 | 18 | 0.45 | 96% | Table and drawing |
| FE-DM-2598 | 83.5 | 20 | 0.98 | 96% | Table and drawing |
* FE-DM-1022: 10 mm follows the drawing reference. The source technical sheet states 8 mm; final supplied thickness remains to be confirmed. Finished size, layer count and frame are confirmed for each order.
Applications to review
- Industrial mist elimination: define the entrained liquid, desired separation task and drainage arrangement.
- Oil-mist capture: review the oil, temperature, aerosol characteristics and collector design; a media selection is not a complete equipment specification.
- Gas-liquid coalescence: review droplet loading, drainage, wet pressure drop and downstream carryover requirements.
- Cooling-tower droplet capture: assess the proposed structure, airflow and water return; this concerns entrained droplets, not water vapour.
- Scrubber packing: evaluate gas-liquid contact and mass-transfer requirements separately. Pollutant absorption also depends on the scrubbing liquid and process; PP mesh is not described as a universal gas adsorbent.
These are application review routes, not five verified installations or a one-to-one assignment of models to industries.
Structure illustration only; dimensional details are provided in the selected reference drawing.

Frequently asked questions
What does this media separate?
It is intended for application-specific capture and coalescence of entrained liquid droplets in gas streams. The appropriate structure and operating conditions must be reviewed for the selected duty.
Does it remove water vapour?
Droplet capture is different from water-vapour removal. This mesh is not presented as a dehumidifier or as a means of removing all gaseous contaminants.
Which of the five styles should I choose?
Compare the structure drawing, filament diameter, reference thickness and intended assembly, then review gas flow, liquid properties, loading and drainage. The five styles are not automatically assigned to five different industries.
Are the listed thicknesses the complete pad thickness?
The table describes a single-layer reference. Finished pad thickness depends on the selected layers and assembly. For FE-DM-1022, the drawing states 10 mm while the source data sheet states 8 mm; 10 mm is shown as the drawing reference and supplied thickness must be confirmed.
What efficiency and pressure drop can be expected?
No universal efficiency, droplet-size cut-off or pressure-drop guarantee is assigned here. These require evidence for the selected structure and operating conditions, including wet operation where applicable.
Can it replace an existing separator element?
Share the existing drawing or photographs, dimensions, frame, orientation and operating conditions. Similar appearance or a reference code does not establish interchangeability.
Can the media be cleaned and reused?
Cleaning suitability depends on the contaminant, PP compatibility, construction and condition. Confirm the cleaning method before use; no fixed cleaning interval or service life is specified.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Provide the application, gas and liquid composition, gas flow or face velocity, temperature, pressure, installation space, layer or assembly requirements, drainage direction, quantity and destination. Unknown items can be discussed during review.
