A European precision tube manufacturer required an efficient filtration solution for coolant and lubricating fluid (cutting oil) systems used in their metal-cutting machines. The goal was to remove fine metal chips and dust particles continuously during machining, ensuring clean coolant circulation and protecting machine performance.
Their existing material was expensive and had short service life, frequently clogging under heavy metal load. The client sought a synthetic nonwoven filter media that could offer consistent permeability, high coolant resistance, and long roll length for continuous operation in band-type (roller) filters.
Industry: Metalworking / Precision Tube Manufacturing
Application: Filtration of coolant (oil/water mixture) in T40 and TVT machines
Filtration medium: Nonwoven synthetic fiber (thermally bonded)
Filtration purpose: Separation of metal dust, chips, and fines from coolant fluid
Coolant temperature: 40–60°C
pH environment: 7.5–9.0
Chemical resistance required: High resistance to oil-based and water-based cutting fluids
Filter width: 710 mm
Thickness: 0.2 mm
Basis weight: 40–110 g/m² depending on machine model
Supply form: Roll goods, 200 meters per roll
SFFILTECH provided a high-strength thermally bonded polyester nonwoven filter fabric, designed for continuous belt filters and coolant purification systems.
Each grade of material was optimized for particle retention, flow rate, and resistance to deformation under fluid pressure.
