Dust Filter Bag Incoming Inspection: Quality Checklist
Incoming inspection should confirm that the delivered filter bags match the approved specification before installation. Visual appearance alone cannot confirm suitability for an operating process.
1. Confirm the specification and batch identity
Check the purchase order, approved drawing, material designation, treatment or membrane requirement, dimensions, quantity and batch identification. Record any difference before the bags are installed.
2. Verify dimensions and fit
Measure representative samples for length, diameter, top construction, snap-band or ring dimensions and bottom configuration. Compare them with the cage dimensions and tube-sheet openings. Use an agreed sampling plan for larger batches.
3. Inspect seams and construction
Check sewing lines, thread continuity, seam position, loose ends, skipped stitches and reinforcement areas. Inspect the top attachment and bottom joint for consistent construction without assuming that appearance alone predicts service life.
4. Check the filter media
Confirm the material and weight or thickness specified for the project. Review the surface treatment, membrane or coating requirement and inspect for visible damage, contamination, folds or handling marks. Material certificates or test records should be matched to the supplied batch when required.
5. Review cage compatibility
Inspect cage diameter, length, wire spacing, weld condition and corrosion protection. A bag that meets its own drawing may still wear prematurely if the cage is damaged or the clearance is unsuitable.
6. Confirm packaging and storage condition
Look for moisture, compression damage, contamination and labeling errors. Store bags dry and protected from sunlight, chemicals and mechanical damage according to the material and project requirements.
7. Document the inspection
Keep measurements, sample photos, batch labels, certificates and nonconformance records. If a discrepancy is found, isolate the affected batch and review it against the approved drawing before use.
Quality acceptance should be based on the agreed specification, sampling method and project requirements. Fixed efficiency, lifetime or cost-saving claims are not substitutes for dimensional, material and construction verification.
